Are bipolar people more likely to notice other bipolar people?

maddoguc03 Asked: Are bipolar people more likely to notice other bipolar people?

I'd like to hear from anyone with bipolar disorder or some other mental illness:

I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder about a year ago.I know many bipolar people may have a little paranoia; they make take a seemingly innocent remark the wrong way or they think someone is out to get them.

However, do you think a person with bipolar disorder is more likely to notice symptoms of bipolar disorder or another mental illness in someone else that an average person may not notice?Perhaps another person is exhibiting the same symptoms as you do.In other words, does it "take one to know one"?

The only analogy I can think of is that left-handed people tend to notice other left-handed people. How do I know?Because I'm left-handed!Not many right-handed people notice someone is using his/her left hand to write, eat, or do some other task.

Maybe it's because you're more knowledgeable about bipolar than many other people without this condition? (I don't know for sure, it's justguess)
