I don't know the situation with getting therapy in the States but we have opportunities for getting free psychotherapy here via public health services (yay NHS), counselling at educational institutions &, failing that, mental health charities. Can you get advice at your college about this? I also find group therapy tremendously valuable at vulnerable points in my life, again via mental illness support groups.

I hope you are able to get the support you need, despite family obstacles.

The disorders are incorrectly categorised ... Axis I are clinical syndromes (i.e. Bipolar and Major Depressive Disorder); Axis II are Developmental and Personality Disorders (i.e. Borderline Personality Disorder); Axis III are General Medical Conditions (i.e. brain injury); Axis IV are Psychosocial and Environmental Problems; and Axis V are Global Assessment of Functioning. See my blog at http://www.mentality.org.au/mentality_wp/?p=72

Hi Dipesh
Not sure when was your question posted.

Your problem is a highly personal problem, I would suggest not to mention it on your resume an make it visible to all. But make sure when you are called for an interview you mention about this problem in brief; and can then provide doctors certification too that you are now normal and fit to work in an organisation.
Anyways all companies have their own personal medical checkups done before they employ anyone, so should not be a problem.
You have mentioned, it’s the gap of 6 years, so in the meantime I would suggest you take up some short course in field related which you are interested, as nowadays good study institutes also have placement assistance too.

Wish you luck!
